Color Associations
I wanted a non conflicting color scheme so I chose to go with a monochromatic color scheme. I do plan on incorporating a little color where its needed, for example when a page is highlighted to let the viewer know what page they are on.
These sites motivated my color choice:
http://www.worth1000.com/
http://www.livescience.com/
http://www.slashfood.com/
Color Scheme
I will be using a monochromatic color scheme. I chose the monochromatic color scheme because I wanted my content to be the most vibrant and attracting rather than the site itself, but I don't intend on making an overall ugly site.

Proposal Texture
Texture Overview
On my site I will have minimal to no texture. For the most part, my backgrounds will be in solid colors with varying opacities. Other than that, I will have some gradients applied throughout the site. I chose not to use textures because I wanted to reinforce the simplistic look.
Texture Style
My site will be very clean and somewhat modern looking. It will be minimalistic. The texture itself will be in the gradients.

Proposal Typography
Typography Summary
For the headings and sub-headings I chose the font Trajan Pro. For everything else, mainly the content of he website I will be using Verdana. I wanted my fonts to be clean and have a nice flow that accompanies the other content I will be presenting.
3 sites that inspired me:
1. http://www.anthemmagazine.com/
2. http://www.burgerworldchronicles.com/
3. http://www.faesthetic.com/

Proposal Site Design
Design Summary
I plan on making the design of my site as clean looking as possible. I would label my site as "basic." I plan on making a clean and basic looking site because I would rather showcase more of my work rather than having a flashy design. Even though I plan on making a basic site, I still would like to have a visually appealing site.
These sites helped me in designing my site:
http://www.500x.org
http://www.mamfw.org
http://www.dunnandbrown.com
Design Metaphor
The metaphor that describes my site would be "Gallery." My site will mostly consist of images of my work, and not as much text. I chose this metaphor because I plan on letting visitors view my work.
Design Background
The background I plan on using will be in gradients. I will probably use a white to gray/black gradient. My hopes are that the gradients aren't too distracting. The Header text will be up at the very top of the page, the text will probably just consist of my name. Below that is the main menu bar with separate rectangular buttons to click. To bar to the left is where the sub-menus will show up. The main area will be where everything else is displayed. Below are examples of what I intend to do with my site.

Design Elements
For my proposed site I will not have too many design elements. Other than the gradients, I will have rollover effects for the buttons. For the buttons that are highlighted I will change the color of the text and button color. As far as the font goes I will have two different fonts, one font for the labeling of the title and menu bars and another font for everything else.
Design Palette
My site will probably be using a lot of grays, whites, and blacks. I might implement one more color, but it will probably be used sparingly. The top, menu, and side bars will have the white-gray-black gradients. The main area with the site content will have a white background. When on a certain page, it will be reflected on the menu bars with a change in color.

Proposal Site Interaction
Interaction Summary

The interaction page will have a single menu bar. Mostly all of the menu buttons will have sub-menus as well. The menu buttons will be in a rectangular shape, with each button being labeled. These buttons will probably also have rollover effects. The two examples show the possibilities I might implement on the site. Here are a couple sites with menus that inspired me:
http://www.cnn.com
http://www.ebay.com
http://www.time.com
Interaction Modification
I looked at these sites as inspiration.
http://www.rottentomatoes.com
http://www.andrewjacksonart.com
http://www.markryden.com
After looking at all these sites I decided to use the horizontal menu bar layout. The three sites show an idea of what interests me. All of the menu items on these sites have simple rollover effects that I'm interested in. I believe that I will implement something similar to the mark Ryden site as far as sub menus go. I will probably have sub menus to the left of the pages. I also enjoyed the Mark Ryden site because of its simplicity.
Interaction Functionality
Each button on my site will have a normal state and a rollover state, but not too flashy. The menu bar will consist of six separate buttons: Home, About, Drawings, Photography, Sculpture, 3D-Modeling. Each button will send the user to its own separate page. The sub-menu buttons will be on the left hand side for those menu items that require them.
Interaction Elements
I will have all my main menu buttons appear the same. The buttons will be the same color, size, and shape. Each button will only change in appearance when a user rolls over a single button. The sub-menu buttons will have a different color and possibly a different size, but they will be in a similar shape as the main menu buttons.

Proposal Site Structure

Site Structure Type
I plan on using a hierarchical structure for my website.
Site Structure Summary
The hierarchical structure fits my site well because its an efficient way of presenting my work. Each style of art will have its own page and almost all pages (except sculpture)will have sub-categories. Sculpture doesn't have its own sub-categories because I lack enough pieces to do so. Each sub-category will have its own page as well. In all, I will have 13 pages in my site.
Page Name List:
Home
About
Drawings
Photography
Sculpture
3D Modeling
Sketches
Charcoal
Color
Film
Digital

Proposal Site Content
Summary
My website will showcase my art work. Each individual art style will be separated on each of the pages. I will have a section for drawing, photography, and sculpture. Each of those pages will also have brief descriptions of the work also. I will also add subcategories if needed for some of the arts to differentiate. I will have a homepage, that would help direct the user to other pages. I will also add a biography section. I also want to add a links page directing the viewer to my inspirations.
Images
These are a couple of pictures that I will post on my webpage. These only pertain to the photography section of course. I've taken these photos around Dallas, and these are photos I have submitted for my previous photography class.
